SkateMD is operated and staffed 100% by volunteers. We like to think we have the best volunteers in Northern California! And, the success of our skateboard clinics depends on the help of these volunteers. Since we strive to provide one-on-one coaching for the youth, we solicit the help of local skateboarders (18 years and over) to serve as "Skate Buddies". Skate Buddies do not require previous experience working with children with special needs. SkateMD will provide you with a short training and specialists are on-site to support you as you work with participants.

- Event support (e.g. registration, snack table, etc.).
- Photographers and filmers.
- Local emergency personnel for first aid station.
- Professionals in the community serving youth, including special needs youth (e.g. physical therapists, special needs aids, etc.) who can support our skateboarders in the process.
- Members of the community interested in joining our board of directors or committees.

We have had 100% positive feedback from our volunteers who have found it completely inspiring and surprisingly fun. There's no better time than the present to get on board. The event schedule is below and volunteer recruitment will start approximately one month before the clinic date.

Volunteer Waiver - A current waiver is required for all new and returning volunteers attending events. Please note that if you are volunteering for a clinic, you will need to sign up as a volunteer through signup genius link for that event (above) AND have a current waiver on file.
